The incredible run for the Lady Hippos volleyball team continued last week, as the Hutto volleyball team improved to 7-0 in district play with three-set victories over Bastrop last Tuesday and Elgin on Friday.
The Lady Hippos have yet to lose a set in district play. In seven games, Hutto is 21-0 in sets won. The Lady Hippos are also ranked sixth in the state by the Texas Girls Coaches Association.

On Tuesday, the Lady Hippos faced Georgetown on the road. Results were not available by press time.
“We are playing well now, but will have tough game Tuesday as we travel to Georgetown,” Hutto head volleyball coach Janiece Nelson said. “Georgetown is in second place, and they have been talking about this rematch since we beat them the first time.”
Hutto beat Georgetown the first game – just like everyone else in the district – in three sets.
“We got to rest some veteran players and give our younger, less experienced players some much needed playing time last week,” Nelson said. “This is vital if we intend to go far into the playoffs.”
