Hutto ISD elementary campuses will hold their annual Kindergarten Roundup the weeks of April 18-21 and May 2-6 for the 2011-2012 school year.
Parents of children who will be five years of age on or before Sept. 1, 2011 are encouraged to attend on the dates scheduled to register their children.
Hutto ISD will hold Pre-K registration at the Central Admin building May 10 from 1:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. for the 2011-2012 school year.
Next school year, Hutto ISD will offer a full-day tuition based program in addition to the current half-day state funded program for qualifying families. Parents of children who will be 4 years old on or before Sept. 1, 2011 should attend to find out what programs they may qualify for.
Parents should bring the following items to register their children: official birth certificate, current immunization record, parent/guardian current driver’s license, child’s Social Security card and proof of residence (can be current utility bill, rental agreement or purchase contract with physical address).
Hutto ISD also offers a half-day, state funded free Pre-K program that serves children who are 4-year-old on or before Sept. 1, 2011 and whose first language is not English, children of active military personnel, and children who qualify for the program based on their family’s income.
Families that qualify for the free half-day program may also enroll their child for the other half day in the tuition-based program for half the cost of tuition.
In addition, the district offers a full-day, federally funded Head Start program that serves 4-year old children based on qualifying factors, including income.
This is the first year Hutto ISD will offer a tuition-based, full-day Pre-K program for children who are 4-years-old on or before Sept. 1, 2011.
Enrollment documents and a $50 non-refundable registration fee and a $100 deposit are required at registration. Tuition will be $500/month, for a 10-month program that follows the school calendar. Classes will not be offered over the summer.
The tuition-based program is open to any child. Families that qualify for the free half-day program will be eligible for the remaining half day in the tuition based program for half the cost.
Each tuition-based Pre-K class requires 18 registered students to create a class. If the class does not register enough students, any deposits will be fully refunded.
The half-day, state funded classes will continue regardless of registration numbers for qualified students.
Zoning maps are available on the public information page on the Hutto ISD website to determine a child’s home campus for the 2011-2012 school year.
