Henderson takes bronze at state

Hutto High School’s Cortney Henderson competed in shot put at the state track meet Friday, bringing home a third place finish and a new school record with a throw of 39’ 4 1/4”.

According to Hutto coach Pete Hoyer, Henderson has placed in every meet in both shot put and discus. She has combined for first place seven times in five meets and has re-set the HHS record in shot put four times. She was a regional qualifier in discus with a fifth place finish, and took first place in shot put at regionals to make it to state.

Henderson was named co-MVP of the girls track team at the 2008 Spring Sports Recognition ceremony Monday night.
